What is A2H GI size?
The A2 would be the “normal” size for the Gi, about 5’5″-6’0″ and 154-190 lbs. The A2XL will be about 1 1/2 to 2 inches longer that the height of the A2 but the same weight size, and the A2H is for “husky”. This would be for someone who is the height of the A2 but wider than the “regular” A2.

How much does a judo gi shrink?
On every Judogi (jacket and pants) you will find a tag with washing instructions written on it. Note that the Dogi will shrink about 6% over the first washings and will afterwards match the measurements indicated in the size table. Therefore, do not take the shrinkage into consideration when choosing your size.
How do you size a GI?
- TOO SMALL. Gi cuff is more than 2 inches before the wrist bone. It is considered too short.
- CORRECT SIZE. Gi cuff is right on the wrist bone or about 1.5 inches before or past the wrist bone.
- SLIGHTLY BIG. Gi cuff is about 2-3 inches past the wrist bone.
- TOO BIG. Gi cuff is more than 3 inches past the wrist bone.
What color GI should I get?
The Gi should be completely white, royal blue or black. No Gi’s will be accepted with different colored jackets or pants nor will we allow the use of Gis with different colored collars.
How do GI sizes work?
Gi Sizing. BJJ Gis typically come in sizes from A0 to A6. The ‘A’ stands for ‘Adult’ sizing and the number just represents different sizes for adults, with the higher number being for the bigger size. Kids Gis follow different sizing, sometimes M0 – M4 and sometimes 000, 00, 0, 1, etc.
What do judo players wear?

What does a blue gi mean in judo?
The blue gi’s only purpose is to distinguish one opponent from another during a match. By contrasting with the white gi of her opponent, the wearer of the blue gi makes it easier for the judges, referees and spectators to keep track of which contestant is which. The blue judo gi is not indicative of rank or skill.
How do you soften judo gi?
Wash it and dry it with a dryer sheet. It won’t get ruined by going through a single drying cycle. But it will likely shrink quite a bit. Using vinegar like you do bleach would help with softening it, and it will not harm the material like a softener does.
Will my GI shrink in the dryer?
Warm water should be perfect for all gi’s. A lot of gi manufactures say that warm water will shrink the gi, but this is not always true. Yes cotton will shrink naturally over time, but the biggest culprit to gi’s shrinking is the dryer. Putting it in the dryer one too many times will soften it up, and weaken it.
How do I get rid of GI funk?
If your gi is super stinky, you can pre-soak it in a vinegar and water solution in your washing machine before washing it. Start with 1 or 2 cups of vinegar per gi and enough water to cover the gi (s). Use trial and error with the amount of vinegar and the time you need to soak it in order to get rid of the smell.
