Does it matter what color GI I wear?
The short answer to this question: jiu jitsu gi color means absolutely nothing. While BJJ gi belt colors carry some serious significance – primarily in alerting you to the level of shark you’re swimming with on the mat – jiu jitsu gi colors don’t carry any special significance.
Can you wear a black GI in judo?
If you not have bought one yet there is no reason to get a black one. In Freestyle Judo, you can wear any color gi except red. In our club, many of the girls have pink, purple, and other colors. Most guys stick with blue or white.

Are Judo and Jiu Jitsu Gi the same?
The style difference between BJJ gi and Judo gi is the most noticeable difference. Occasionally, some very simple brand embroideries can be found on the sleeves or jacket, but Judo practitioners tend to stray away from patches. The style of BJJ gis, however, can be much more flashy and aggressive.
