Where do I put my Taekwondo patches?
Taekwondo United Patch – sewn onto the left front of the uniform top, opposite the Allstar circle patch, the word “Taekwondo” should be centered at the top. Academic Achiever patch – sew onto the right sleeve, just below the shoulder seam, centered on the outside of the sleeve.
Where do you put the Karate patch?
Patches must be placed on the uniform in accordance with the attached diagram.
- Patches are centered on the sleeve.
- There is a 1/2” space between the shoulder seem and the first patch.
- Each subsequent patch is placed 1/4” from the previous patch.
- The first chevron is placed 3/8” up from the cuff seam.
How do you sew patches on a uniform?
When you have sewn all the way around the edge of the patch, loop the thread and pull the needle through to tie off your knot. To complete sewing your patch, thread your needle through so that you create a small loop on the inside of your uniform. Bring the needle through the loop and pull the thread tight.

Is it better to sew or iron on a patch?
Sew on patches are great too. They add more flexibility to the garment on which the patch is attached. So, if you don’t want your patch to be a little stiff, you can have the iron on backing eliminated and once it’s sewn on, the patch can flow a bit with the fabric.

Match the thread color with that of the patch’s edge and, for machine-sewing, match the inner bobbin color with the uniform color. Remove the pins as you sew.

Patches can be ironed onto Cotton, Denim, Wool, and Leather. When using a house Iron, set it to Cotton (up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit). Place a damp cloth over the patch and Iron onto desired fabric, or garment, while applying firm pressure for 30 seconds. Allow patch to cool for 5 minutes.
